Keeping Your Speech in Context
"Deciding on concept"

In forming a speech in your mind before committing it to paper several decisions must be made.   Firstly you must decide the intent and response (if any) you intend from it.

The language you use in your presentation can if appropriate, convey not only your thoughts but also emotion, intent, goals, benefits, any positive ideas you wish to impart to your audience.   Formal communication by way of making a speech or presentation can because of its structure deliver thoughts and ideas in a most effective way.

The audience is focused in a most intensive way and as a result "get the message" in a most direct and impressionable manner.   This of course is a two edged sword. The effectiveness of delivery and the content of the speech can leave indelible impressions and can in fact establish a base for decision-making or the lack thereof.   So being that you are sure to make a strong impression on your audience and possibly cause them to make decisions or add to or influence decision making you are wise to lay a solid base to your speech before actually writing it.
